The Federal Capital Territory task force and joint enforcement team, on Thursday, confiscated and crushed 432 commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, operating within the city centre and other prohibited areas. The House of Representatives has asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to halt the implementation of the new cash withdrawal policy slated for January 9, 2023 pending compliance with the provisions of the Act establishing the bank. The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Iredia Endurance for alleged fraud. Endurance, who claimed to be 19-years old was recently arrested by the Commission sequel to a petition by one Chrstine Brown, a British citizen, alleging that the suspect defrauded her of £450,000. Upon arrest, the suspect confessed he received £250,000.00 from the complainant in Bitcoin, FedEx and gift cards. …to limit POS withdrawals to N20,000 daily The Central Bank Of Nigeria has imposed fresh cash withdrawal limits on individuals and organisations, which takes effect from January 9, 2023. According to a new memo to banks issued on Tuesday and signed by the Director of Banking Supervision, Haruna .B. Mustafa, individuals will only be able to withdraw N100,000 per week ( from over the counter, Point of Sale Machines or the Automated Teller Machines), while organisations can access N500,000 per week.
