The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 elections, Hon Francis Barthlomew Chima aka OmoBarca has felicitated the incumbent governor of Adamawa State, Mr Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on his declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as winner of the just concluded governorship election in the state. The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa state, Senator Aishatu Binani has asked the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court to forthwith recognise her as the governor-elect of Adamawa. Ahead of the May 29, 2023 change of government in Abia state, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced an investigation into the utilization of local government funds by state government officials. The commission in a letter dated 4th April, 2023 and addressed to the permanent secretary in the ministry of Local Government and chieftaincy affairs invited treasurers and Heads of service in the 17 local government councils for questioning. Adejoh Okeme, a legal practitioner, on Sunday, emerged the candidate of Labour Party (LP) for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State. Mr Okeme polled 127 votes to beat his closest rival AVM Isaac Alfa, who scored 69 votes at the primary held on Saturday in Lokoja, the state capital, through indirect mode. Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye has won the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primaries in Kogi State. Dino was declared winner by the returning officer on Sunday. He scored 313 votes to defeat Idoko Ilonah who had 124 votes. Ougoing governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has won the Sokoto South Senatorial election. Tambuwal, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ibrahim Danbaba Dambuwa, who is the incumbent Senator representing Sokoto South. Tambuwal polled 100,860 votes while Danbaba polled 95,884 votes.
