Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has won the Abia governorship ticket of the Action Peoples Party (APP). His victory came weeks after he dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mascot had served as the Chief of Staff to former Governor, Theodore Orji. He was returned unopposed at the APP primary election held in Umuahia, the capital, on Tuesday.
