The nationwide protest against hardship and hunger in the country slated for August 1 kickstarted on Thursday morning from the Ikeja Under-bridge, Lagos, with heavy presence of security agents accompanying the protesters. The development comes amid earlier threats issued by some unknown persons and traditionalists, warning residents against street protests against the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the prevailing economic situation in the country.
