Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, on Saturday, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari for the release of the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Two bankers, Agbo John Agama and Edoh Oga Steve were on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment. They were jailed by Justice Mojisola Olajuwon of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, for conspiracy, aiding and abetting fraud to the tune of N9,400,000. The convicts were prosecuted on one count charge by the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC. An intending couple identified as Mba Ifeoma Gloria and Eremezie Tochukwu Martin, have been killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Arondizuogu in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo state. Their wedding was slated for Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Residents of the community say the duo were in a tricycle when they were attacked by the gunmen who killed all three passengers inside the tricycle. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday evening.
