Palpable fear have enveloped Lamba village, Asa local government area of Kwara state as gunmen killed Fulani head, Alhaji Abdullahi Hardo Buruku in the early hours of Wednesday. The suspected assassins were said to be about 30 in number. Until his death, the deceased was the state branch chairman, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria. No fewer than 60 residents of Izzi, Ekile Ward of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State were killed by suspected Fulani Herdsmen during the weekend. Governor Ortom’s Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu confirmed this on Tuesday while addressing hundreds of residents who were displaced as a result of the attack. Abonu called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Sultan of Sokoto, Lamido of Adamawa and other opinion leaders in the North to caution Fulani herdsmen over the current genocide in the state. Four people have been killed in what the police in Ebonyi described as IPOB members and armed robbers’ attacks in the state. The police command added that it arrested six suspected IPOB members. The Chief Provost of Nigerian Immigration Service, Imo State Command, Okiemute Mrere, has been assassinated. Mrere was murdered on Saturday night on Owerri- Port Harcourt Road in Owerri, our correspondent learnt on Monday. Many persons have sustained different degrees of injury after an explosion rocked parts of Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
