At least five soldiers are said to have been shot dead along Wetheral Road Owerri in Imo State as unknown gunmen attacked the area. The incident happened in the late hours of Friday. There was a protest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after a trailer crushed four persons in the First Gate-Lagos State Polytechnic axis of the Ikorodu road. It was learnt that one person was also injured in the trailer accident. The protesters, which included transporters on the road, set up a born fire and blocked the road. Armed men suspected to be Fulani militias have reportedly killed 36 residents of Shikaan Mbagena Kpav community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. Unknown gunmen at about 2 am Friday morning allegedly attacked Umutu Police Divisional Headquarters in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State. The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, has said that Fulani herdsmen entering the state must get clearance from the police command of the state. No fewer than 160 people were feared killed while others went missing after a ferry carrying over 160 passengers sank in the River Niger.
