The Edo State Police Command on Friday recovered N34.5 million and four of the vehicles used in the multiple bank robberies that took place in Uromi on Thursday. The Federal Ministry of Finance building in the Central Area of Abuja is on fire. Fire fighters have arrived at the scene to put out the fire. Similarly on February 10, the headquarters of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) was burnt. The fire reportedly started around 11pm on the precious night, badly affecting the building’s third floor. It was learnt that the fire started from the office of the Special Adviser to the FMBN Managing Director, Ahmed Dangiwa, and later moved to the boardroom of the bank. Details later.

A Commissioner in the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), Alhaji Hashimu-Shehu Gazura, is dead. Gazura, who represented Gummi 2 Constituency at the Zamfara State House of Assembly, died in a fatal road accident on Friday. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Social Development Secretariat (SDS) has arrested a 48-year-old beggar, Hadiza Ibrahim, with N500,000 and $100. Sani Amar, the director, Social Welfare Services of the secretariat said the beggar, an indigene of Kaduna was one of the die-hard beggars that had been apprehended by the secretariat’s taskforce many times. “It was very fortunate that on February 9, Ibrahim was apprehended among other beggars on Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent in Wuse II,” Mr Amar said. Three Policeman have been reportedly killed in Ebonyi State by gunmen. A reliable source confirmed that three cops were gunned down Monday night in front of a police station along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway. The policemen, who were said to have mounted a roadblock in front of the station, were killed when the gunmen opened fire on them. A three-storey building still under construction on Akanbi Crescent in the Yaba area of Lagos State has collapsed. THE WHISPERER gathered that there are possible casualties stuck in the building. The building collapsed into another building beside it. An eyewitness told The Punch that part of the building had collapsed late last year, but the construction did not stop.
