The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, sacked 17 members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly that defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. Students of Ondo State origin under the aegis of the National Association of Ondo State Students have blocked the Akure/Ilesha road, protesting against the failure of the federal government to meet the demands of the striking lecturers. The aggrieved students who were joined by members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) barricaded the road, preventing vehicular movement. The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, on Monday released the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, results for Private Candidates 2021- Second Series. WAEC’s Head of National Office, Patrick Areghan, disclosed this during a press conference at the council’s office in Yaba, Lagos. Giving a breakdown of the results, Areghan said that of the 51,444 that wrote the examination, 25,008 representing 48.61 percent obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
