Following the delay in registration for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has postponed the ongoing registration exercise by two weeks. The exercise which ended on May 14 will resume and now end on May 29
JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyode at a briefing in Abuja on Saturday identified the use of wrong NIN, poor service delivery by telecommunications companies and NIMC as well as a last-minute rush by prospective candidates as reasons for the delay being experienced in the process.
He also cautioned parents against clogging the system by forcing underage students to register. He said to be eligible for the UTME, a candidate must not be below 16 years of age.
The Board has also shifted the dates for the UTME Mock Examination earlier scheduled to begin on May 20 and the UTME computer-based test that was fixed for June 5. While the mock examination will now hold on June 3, the test will hold from June 19 to July 3, 2021.
Professor Oloyode advised Direct Entry candidates and warned accredited computer centers from exorbitant charges. Parents are also cautioned against indulging in acts capable of undermining the admission of their children and wards.
