Stakeholders of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency have reaffirmed support for its governorship candidate in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor.
The leaders unanimously adopted Chief Dr. Stephen Ukpai Ohafia as the leader of the party in the federal constituency through a motion moved by Pastor Success Okorie, with Chief Goody Imo seconding the motion.
The stakeholders who spoke during an enlarged meeting featuring ward and local government leaders —which was powered by Chief Ukpai Ohafia pledged to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, and his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu.
The party leaders also resolved to support the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa to succeed in office.
The party leaders urged decamping members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to take advantage of the party’s strength and unity by “joining the party”.
