2027: City Boy Movement Inaugurates Coordinators in Abia Central, North, Expands Grassroots Mobilisation

City Boy Movement (CBM), Abia State Chapter, has expanded its grassroots structure with the inauguration of coordinators and executives across Abia Central and Abia North Senatorial Zones, as part of efforts to strengthen youth mobilisation and political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise, led by the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, brought together key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), community leaders and members of the movement in separate events held in the two zones.

In Abia Central, Local Government Coordinators, their assistants and executives across the six LGAs in the zone were inaugurated. The event was attended by APC chairmen from Umuahia North and South, the CBM State Patron and Coordinator, Zonal Coordinator Chief Uzo, state executives, and former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo.

Speaking at the event, Chief Uzo said the movement represents a platform for hardworking young Nigerians striving for success, noting that it offers hope for a better future. He commended the leadership and members for their commitment.

A representative of the LGA coordinators from Umuahia South, who spoke on behalf of others, expressed appreciation to the state leadership and pledged to drive grassroots mobilisation in line with the objectives of the movement.

The State Patron called for increased political inclusion and urged greater support for the federal government, stating that such alignment would enhance opportunities and representation for the South-East.

Also speaking, Sam Onuigbo commended the movement for building a structured platform capable of engaging and empowering youths across the state.

In Abia North, the movement inaugurated unit and ward coordinators at an event held in Ohafia Local Government Area. Those in attendance included the State Patron, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji; State Coordinator, Okechukwu Gberemako; Chairman of Ohafia APC Stakeholders, Chief Uche Ogboso; and coordinators from Isuikwuato, Bende, Umunneochi, Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs.

The Abia North Zonal Coordinator, Dr Lillian Obenwa, described the inauguration as a strategic move to strengthen grassroots structures, urging the newly appointed leaders to begin mobilisation efforts in their communities.

Chief Ogboso emphasised the need for unity and commitment among members, while the Arochukwu LGA Coordinator, Austine Bonny, assured the leadership of their readiness to deliver on their responsibilities.

In his keynote address, Igbokwe described the inauguration as a call to service, stressing that the movement is focused on mobilising and empowering young Nigerians across communities.

He also highlighted ongoing reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at strengthening the economy and governance, urging members to support national development efforts.

The State Patron, Chinedum Orji, reiterated the vision of the movement as a platform for inclusion and alignment with national leadership, calling on members to remain committed.
