Abia Guber 2023: My Governorship Will Not Be At The Expense of Ikonne’s Death – Bishop Emeka Nwankpa

Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party, has revealed that his sure emergence as the Governor of Abia State will not be at the expense of the death of Prof Uche Ikonne. He said he was praying for Prof Ikonne’s recovery so that they both would contest alongside others for God to choose best candidate among them.

Addressing the party leaders from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state in his Umukalu Ntigha country home on Friday, the revered cleric who described the late Prof Ikonne as a good man, said that Ikonne’s death was a huge loss, not just to the Ngwa nation and Abia State, but also to humanity at large.

Describing his sure emergence as the Governor of Abia State as one that has been divinely ordained, the frontline governorship candidate and philanthropist said that he possesses the character, courage and capacity needed of a good leader.

In his words, ‘I am sure of emerging as the next Governor of Abia State. I am not in the race just to become Governor. I am in this race to provide our dear state with quality leadership. My governorship will not be at the expense of Prof Ikonne’s death but will be premised on my antecedents. Ikonne was a good man. I would have needed his contributions to help me build a new Abia.

On the official flag off of his campaign where he would unveil his ‘ASSURED Blueprint’, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa hinted that except there is any slight change, the ceremony would take place on Saturday, 11 February, 2023 at Aba.
