Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State, members of the Abia North Unique Ladies (ANUL) Ohafia Chapter, have said that the governoship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor is one of the few Nigerian political candidates who will not turn electoral victory into an opportunity for wealth accumulation and, therefore, women will give him resolute backing.

The group made this known during the party’s consultation visit to Ohafia Local Government Area.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mrs. Grace Kalu, said the women were proud of the achievements of the YPP candidate who has consistently supported the people without any political office, assuring that he would do more if elected as the governor of Abia state.

Recall that Good Governance Initiative, had urged Abians to support the governoship ambition of the Osisioma Ngwa born philanthropist.

The Deputy Director General of the group, Iroha Awa made the call in Umuahia while addressing journalists, noting that Nwafor is the best bet for Abia state in 2023 general election.

He said Nwafor is credible and about the most qualified of all the candidate who is prepared for the governorship.

“We need someone with a track record that is capable of transforming Abia State. Enyinnaya Nwafor is a competent leader with enormous capacity needed to transform and develop our state.

Awa said Nwafor meets much of the conditions being a seasoned technocrat, philanthropist and businessman.

“In our strong opinion, Enyinnaya Nwafor is the most prepared candidate with the right appeal across the senatorial districts to unite a fragmented Abia.

“Who else is better than him? We are convinced that he can reshape and return Abia to its economic prominence. Supporting him will bring Abia to desired socioeconomic status.”
