The director ABN TV, Mr Ifeanyi Okali, on Tuesday announced the award of scholarship to nine pupils of Our Lady of Mercy Nursery and Primary School, Mater Dei Cathedral school in Umuahia the Abia State capital.
This is in celebration of his birthday. He marked a new age on Sunday, June 12.
Okali who was in the school with some members of his staff said the scholarship will go to students who have shown brilliance in their academic pursuit.
While addressing the pupils Okali, tasked them to be studious in order to pass their examinations and become useful members of the society.
He said, “I came to this school to celebrate with you because I love children, I want you all to be serious with your studies because you are the leaders of tomorrow.
“You will surely lead this country, so you must work hard to take up that leadership responsibilities in the future.
“I appreciate you for gift you have given me, I consider it as precious and show of love from you, God bless you abundantly”.
The special birthday featured songs presentation and dance competition amongst the pupils.
Highlight of the birthday celebration was the distribution of exercise books, pencils, and sets of mathematical instrument.
The headmistress of the school Rev Sister Rosepat Okere, commended Okali, for the kind gesture towards the school and urged him to continue with such acts of love.
Recall the Publisher of The Whisperer, Sunny Idika had on Sunday congratulated Mr Okali on the occasion of his birthday.
The Publisher described Okali as a role model and a man of strong convictions and dynamism who is committed in serving God and humanity.
According to him, Okali’s drive and tenacity in the media industry is inspiring, especially to the younger ones dreaming to attain greater heights.
“Over the years, you have continued to provide and offer impactful leadership on the lives of those around you through the developmental activities which have continued to provide youths around you the viable and decent space to utilize their potential and earn a decent means of livelihood”.
The Publisher lauded Okali’s outstanding contributions to job creation and some other social and community services through his numerous result-oriented activities. He also lauded Okali for his dexterity, sagacity, and courage in making ABN TV and Radio one of the fastest growing outfits.
“On this special, it’s my prayer that the Lord will continue to strengthen you and gives you the wisdom to lead the ashore in a good frame of mind, divine protection always with more blissful years ahead”
