Mosco Ukoha Kalu Ofon, founder of Ohafia Vanguard for Equity and House of Assembly aspirant for Ohafia South State Constituency, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ofon announced his decision to leave the party in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in his Ania Ohafia ward and made available to THE WHISPERER on Monday evening.

The development comes days after the House of Assembly primary election of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Ofon said he is leaving the party with immediate effect as a result of “some irregularities ongoing in the party”.

“I humbly write to inform you of my withdrawal from participating in the Primary Election of our Party for the State House of Assembly scheduled to hold on Tuesday 24th May, 2022 and also resignation of my membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“This decision was necessitated by some irregularities ongoing in the party, imposition of candidates and lack of confidence in the party’s ability to conduct a free, fair and transparent primary election.

“I regret to make this known to you, but seem to see this as the best decision for me and my esteemed supporters.”

Although Ofon is yet to announce the party he is joining, he is said to be considering defecting to the NNPP, THE WHISPERER has learnt.
