Hadiza Bala- Usman President Muhammadu Buhari approved the suspension of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Bala-Usman, to allow for investigation into allegations against her, an official has said. This was disclosed Thursday night by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu. Ms Bala-Usman, an ally of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was first appointed as the NPA MD in 2016. Notorious phone thief arrested by police with 273 phones valued at N15 million in Katsina “The suspect also known as ‘Abba Kala’, (Abba Swags) is a notorious thief and ex-convict, a habitual criminal, who specialises in house breaking and theft of motorcycles,” the police said. Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki has said he won’t join issues with the Federal Government over his claim that N60 billion was printed in March to support allocation to states. Obaseki had lamented the fiscal state of the nation, stating Nigeria is in financial trouble. The People’s Court of the southwestern province in Vietnam, on Tuesday, April 13, sentenced a 25-year-old Nigerian,Unachukwu Chiluba Paulinus, to death for illegally transporting narcotic substances into the country from Cambodia. Unachukwu was arrested last year, February 19, while transporting nearly 3 kilogrammes of methamphetamine into Vietnam. He confessed to drug trafficking to the police before he was charged to court.. The decision to execute Unachukwu was based on Clause 4 in Article 250 of the 2015 Penal Code of the country.
