The Labour Party senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South senatorial zone, Linus Okorie on Monday said that the outgoing Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi was not qualified and competent to occupy the office of the President of the Senate. Okorie, who represented Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, described Umahi’s aspiration for Senate President as deceptive and dead-on-arrival. The Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Igyorov  ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State has suspended the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, with immediate effect. The ward Exco suspended Ayu for anti-party activities after passing vote of no confidence on him. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday declared the Labour Party (LP) Governorship Candidate, Dr Alex Otti, winner of the Abia State governorship election. Professor Nnenna Oti, Returning Officer for the election, said Otti scored 175,467 votes to beat his main challenger, Chief Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 88,529 votes.
