Senator Joy Emordi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Emordi joined the ruling party in Abuja on Wednesday. She was received by Governor Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, visited his predecessor Bola Tinubu in London on Tuesday. Tinubu, a leading political figure in Nigeria, is the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader. There were speculations that he passed away abroad after he was “hurriedly flown out”. Seven members of the National Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned from office over what they described as poor leadership. There was palpable tension at the Wadata House, National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party following the resignation of seven members of the party’s National Working Committee. Although details of those who resigned and the reason for their action was still sketchy as of the time of writing this report, it was gathered that the officials complained about what they referred to as “an unpleasant working environment”. The Court of Appeal Friday morning in Calabar has declared Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as the duly elected senator for the Cross River North senatorial district. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has set aside the judgement of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, which sacked the Executive Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State.
