Seven members of the National Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned from office over what they described as poor leadership. Those who resigned include seven deputy national officers made up of Diran Odeyemi, deputy national publicity secretary; Ahmed Bello, deputy national legal adviser; Umoru Hadizat, deputy national women leader; Divine Amina Arong, deputy national auditor; Hassan Yakubu, deputy national organizing secretary; and Irona Alphonsus, deputy national financial secretary resigned their positions. There was palpable tension at the Wadata House, National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party following the resignation of seven members of the party’s National Working Committee. Although details of those who resigned and the reason for their action was still sketchy as of the time of writing this report, it was gathered that the officials complained about what they referred to as “an unpleasant working environment”. The Court of Appeal Friday morning in Calabar has declared Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as the duly elected senator for the Cross River North senatorial district. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has set aside the judgement of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, which sacked the Executive Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State.
