
BREAKING: Again, PDP floors APC to win AMAC chairmanship election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the just concluded chairmanship election for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) of the PDP defeated his closest rival, Murtala Karshi (Yamarayi) of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and 10 others, to win the election. Mr Zakka polled 19,302 votes while Mr Karshi secured 13,249 votes. AMAC, arguably the most cosmopolitan of the six area councils in Abuja, has 12 wards and includes the city centre of the Nigerian capital.’ The PDP won in 10 wards while the APC won in only two.
