Gwer West, Agatu, Makurdi, and Guma Local Government areas have witnessed series of attacks in the last three weeks where over seventy persons have been killed by suspected herdsmen. Not fewer than 13 persons have been  killed following an attack by armed herders in Tse-Amgbem community close to Aondoana in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State. Suspected bandits who abducted Greenfield University, Kaduna State have threatened to kill the remaining 17 students. Twnty two students and a member of staff were abducted from the school campus along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on April 20 and within a week, five of them were killed according to Daily Trust.
