‘46 soldiers killed’ as militants attack Nigerien military base At least 46 soldiers of the Nigerien defense and security forces (SDF) were reported killed in an attack by militants of the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (EIGS) on Saturday. Almost two months after it announced the landmark arrest of 193 foreigners and 599 Nigerians, in one fell swoop for offences bordering on Cryptocurrency Investment Fraud and Romance Scam, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun the prosecution of some of those arrested.
