A Northern group, Arewa Solidarity & Peace Movement (ASPM), has slammed the Attorney General of Federation, Abubakar Malami for allegedly instigating the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. A prominent Islamic scholar in Kano, Dr Ahmad Bamba, has died at the age of 79. His son Ahmad Ahmad confirmed the death to DAILY NIGERIAN, saying his father died at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital on Friday morning. His funeral is expected to hold at the Darul Hadith Mosque, Tudun Yola after Friday prayer. The late Dr Bamba was famous for his long-running Islamic teaching sessions at Bayero University, Kano mosque, which started in 1991. Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to proscribe the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN). Eminent Businessman and technocrat, Rev. The Federal Government is planning to downsize the civil service. Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, explained that the downsizing is aimed at cutting the cost of the government’s recurrent expenditure yearly. Ahmed disclosed that the Federal Government is working on an exit package for workers that would be affected. The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has described the Southwest Governors Forum’s position on the Magodo Phase 2 Estate incident in Lagos state, as an ‘unjustifiable insinuation’.
