Family sources told THE WHISPERER that the second republic Senate President died in a London hospital early Thursday morning. Wayas, a beneficiary of federal government scholarship, who is fluent in several Nigerian languages, trained in the United States and United Kingdom. After his doctorate degree, Wayas returned to Nigeria in 1973, and was at the airport appointed Commissioner by late Brigadier Jacob Esuene, military governor of the now defunct South-eastern state. The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has said that the issue of pardoning the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is premature.
