The newly elected Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, has been suspended by some lawmakers of the House. He was suspended alongside the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Imo lawmakers have reinstated Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Iwuanyanwu was impeached by 18 out of the 27 lawmakers last Tuesday. The former Speaker Paul Emeziem, who presided over the plenary, okayed the impeachment of Iwuanyanwu without reading the content of the resolution. Iwuanyanwu was reinstated today following the impeachment of Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem. Before taking the action, the complex was barricaded by security men who barred Assembly staff, lawmakers and their aides from gaining access into the complex. Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has secured the highest votes in Aguata Local Government Area. Soludo, Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are all from Aguata. While announcing results at the Local Government Collation Centre, Professor Anim O Ajake, the Collation Officer for Aguata, said Soludo polled 9,136 votes, next to Uba who garnered 4773 votes and Obizo trailed with 3798.
