The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has asked Facebook and other social media platforms to stop allowing the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to use their platforms to incite violence and instigate ethnic hatred in Nigeria. At least three residents of Kano were killed while many are currently trapped in an explosion which rocked Sabongari in Fagge Local Government Area of the state. Details of the incident are still sketchy, but residents told Daily Trust that an explosive device went off in the early hours of the day. One resident said a suicide bomber struck in the area, but Daily Trust cannot independently verify this. The National Hospital in Abuja, on Monday, dismissed claims that the corpse of popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, was singing ‘Ekwueme’ while in the mortuary. The spokesman for the hospital, Dr Taiwo Haastrup, said there was no proof that Osinachi’s body was singing in the morgue. Speaking with newsmen, Haastrup said somebody dead couldn’t be singing while in the morgue. Osinachi, a chorister at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, died a few months ago allegedly due to domestic violence she suffered from her husband, Peter Nwachukwu. The Executive Secretary of National Agricultural Land Development Authority, NALDA, Mr Paul Ikonne has ignored President Muhammadu Buhari's order for political appointees seeking elective positions to resign from office.
