The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has explained why insecurity and kidnapping are rife in the state, saying the economic situation of Anambra among South-East states made it a target of criminals. The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has shared photos from his meeting with young creatives in Lagos. A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Cross, was one of the young persons who participated in the meeting. An Air Peace flight travelling from Lagos to Abuja on Thursday had a crash scare as it neared its destination - Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The 6:30 am Air Peace Flight P47120 going from Lagos to Abuja nearly crashed in a forest area in Niger State before pulling up again. Organisers of a rally in support of the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, were on Saturday tear-gassed by the police in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, in South-East Nigeria. Members and their supporters had gathered along Mile 50 to embark on a rally to canvass support for their candidate but were stopped from going into the streets. The spokesperson for the Atiku presidential campaign, Charles Aniagwu on Friday said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar is already gathering names of his cabinet members. Barely hours after he met with the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yesterday held closed-door meetings with former military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida IBB and former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
