Police ‘rescue’ American woman who flew to Nigeria to meet Yahoo boy

The police in Kwara have arrested 23-year-old Nigerian internet fraud suspect Awoleye Oluwatofunmi for allegedly duping an American national, Vonapolouis Moss, of US$ 1,000. Police commissioner Paul Odama said in Ilorin on Friday that the suspect presented himself to the victim as an American on TikTok, using the name Howard Adams, and defrauded her of $1,000. Mr Odama said the suspect later took a step further by luring the victim to fly into Nigeria on January 9, 2023, through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
