The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has slammed a fine of N5 million on Channels Television for breaking the broadcasting law in a programme with Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed, Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate. The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Apo, Abuja has granted an order freezing all the monies of the Abia State government domiciled in about 27 financial institutions. Justice Bello Kawu in an exparte motion no: M/6686/2023 also barred all the banks from cooperating with the financial aides of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu pending the determination of the motion. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has resigned from office. Information obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Abuja on Friday from sources said the minister has submitted his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari. The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, says it is not true that he is owing civil servants in the state salaries of several months. The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the immediate sacking of all political appointees in the state. Those affected include: Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers and Technical Officers, thereby increasing the number of appointees sacked by the governor after his failed senatorial election and his inability to install his successor. Popular actor Yul Edochie has lost his first son, Kambilichukwu. Kambilichukwu was reportedly rushed to the hospital after he fell unconscious.
