The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday, screened seven governorship aspirants for its upcoming primary election in Ondo. The screening exercise took place at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. The aspirants included Adeolu Akinwumi, Olusola Ebiseni, Bamidele Akingboye, Kolade Akinjo, Bosun Arebuwa, John Mafo and Agboola Ajayi. The aspirants were screened by Sen. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has clarified that there is no reduction in the price of petrol and diesel across its filling stations nationwide. According to a statement on Wednesday by the NNPCL, rumours regarding price changes for Petroleum and Diesel at its service stations across the country are inaccurate. Therefore, the company urged Nigerians to dismiss the reports completely. Edwin Clark, convener of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), says military personnel searching for killers of 17 soldiers raided his house in Kiagbodo, Burutu LGA of Delta state. The Port Harcourt division of the Rivers State High Court has ruled that Celestine Omehia is not a former governor of Rivers State and as such not entitled to the pensions meant for former governors and their deputies. Ruling on the matter brought before the court by Omehia, Justice Daketima Kio in a 97-page judgment that took almost three hours to read, however, said that the counterclaim by the state government demanding that Omehia repay N695m was lacking in merit as he hadn’t compelled anyone to pay him the money. A Kano High Court sitting in Miller Road has sentenced a Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong to dead by hanging for killing his girlfriend in Kano in 2022.
