A family has rejected a casket bought by their son-in-law for his mother-in-law's burial in Tombo Mbatie, Buruku local government area of Benue State. A Facebook user, Bem Raphael Aondongu, posted incident on his page on Thursday. According to Aondongu, the family members rejected the coffin because, according to them, it was not beautiful, and too poor to bury a member of their family. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that 17 persons were killed while four others were injured in an auto crash on Kwali-Abaji Road before Awawa in the FCT. The corps spokesman, Bisi Kazeem, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. Mr Kazeem said the crash occurred at about 6:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles – a DAF Trailer with registration number BAU 632 XA and a Toyota Bus with registration details GME 201 ZU. Eleven family members have reportedly died of food poisoning in Ikobi community in Apa Local Government Area of Benue State. Villagers alleged that the family members died after they were suspected to have consumed food contaminated with harmful chemicals. The Police in Ogun State have arrested a 45-year-old man, Segun Omotosho Ebenezer, for allegedly beating his 42-year-olf wife, Omotosho Olubukola, to death. The suspect was arrested at his hideout in Akinseku village, Abeokuta, the state capital, on Sunday. A middle-aged woman, Sadiya has been rescued after her husband allegedly detained her in his house for one year without food in Nguru town, Yobe State.
