Armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have attacked Zongu Akiki village, Mbalagh Council Ward of Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State killing at least five persons. The corpse of a baby girl, suspected to be a day old, has been recovered in a well at Tsalle Village, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident, which occurred on Thursday, was confirmed in a statement by Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service. Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have killed 27 people in Odugbeho community of Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State. The attack was carried out Sunday around 6 pm. THE WHISPERER gathered that the dead bodies of villagers totalling 27 have been recovered so far from the attack. Suspected herdsmen in a fresh attack on Sunday morning killed no fewer than 20 residents of Igangan in Oyo State. The gunmen reportedly struck the community at midnight, killing, maiming and ultimately setting houses ablaze, including the palace of the monarch in the agrarian town and a filling station. At least five gunmen were killed by the police in a foiled attack on Imo state command. Bala Elkana, police spokesperson in Imo, confirmed the incident to TheCable. He said the attackers arrived at the police command in a white Hummer bus in the early hours of Sunday. The Police Command in Niger says 11 people died in an auto crash that occurred at Wuya Village in the Lemu Local Government Area of the state.
