Popular Nollywood actress and star of the sitcom, The Johnson’s, Ada Ameh has died aged 48. This was confirmed to newsmen by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas. who disclosed that Ameh died at a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hospital in Delta State on Sunday. It was also gathered that the star actress suddenly collapse at 11pm, before being rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday sentenced a Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, to 16 years imprisonment. Baba Ijesha is facing six counts of child defilement that include indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault by penetration. The Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, which proffered the charges against the actor, argued that the offences contravene Section 135, 137, 261, 202, 262 and 263 of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015, which stipulates life imprisonment for offenders.
