The federal government has asked vice-chancellors to reopen universities and resume lectures. According to the Punch, the federal government gave the directive through the National Universities Commission (NUC) in a letter signed by Sam Onazi, director, finance and accounts of the NUC, on behalf of Abubakar Rasheed, executive secretary of the commission. The Nasarawa State University, Keffi is set to pull out of a strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, paving way for the commencement of academic activities in the institution. Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, gave this hint on Wednesday while presiding over the fifth State Executive Council in Lafia, the state capital. Following the threat of terrorists to attack Federal Government College, Kwali, Abuja, the Ministry of Education ordered the closure of all schools in the nation’s capital. The directive came at a time when students were writing their third term examination. In order to comply, school authorities made students rush their ongoing examination.
