The Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB, has disclosed that more than 90 per cent of pupils in exit classes in public schools can neither read nor write. Dr Isah Adamu, Chairman of NSUBEB, disclosed this during a two-day roundtable discussion on revamping basic education in Niger State in Minna on Thursday. Fourteen students of Greenfield University in Kaduna State were on Saturday released by their captors weeks after their abduction. ChannelsTV reports that the students were released along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. About 100 students of the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti state, were hospitalised on Wednesday, after reportedly inhaling chemicals used for a fumigation exercise in the school.
