Following the political situation in Anambra State, all is now set for 12 out of 30 members of the Anambra State House of Assembly to formally decamp from the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), THE WHISPERER has learnt.

Party insiders told THE WHISPERER that the members moved against Obiano because he “narrowed the party to himself’” and one of the founders of APGA, committed many infractions, sidelined the NEC and carried out solely many actions that needed NEC’s ratification including the nomination of Prof. Charles Soludo.

The source who refused to be named also confirmed to THE WHISPERER that apart from the 12 members, some prominent politicians from the state including National Assembly members are defecting to APC, ”As you can see, some of them have stated attending our meetings. These members met with some APC governors today to perfect their defection,” he added.

Recall THE WHISPERER reported that former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah had dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Stella, currently the Senator for Anambra North, was part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet.

The lawmaker defected on Thursday at a brief ceremony the APC held in Abuja to admit her into the fold.

In attendance were the Chairman, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

Others were Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum and Kebbi Governor, Atiku Bagudu; Imo Governor, Hope Uzodimma, among others.

The Anambra APC governorship candidate, Senator Andy Uba was present.

Buni congratulated Oduah for joining the APC and assured her of equal rights with existing members.

That important phrase should read, thus: Gov. Buni congratulated Senator Oduah and assured her that the APC-led Federal Government will mellow down on her case at EFCC, and give her safe Haven from persecution.
