Even close confidants continue to learn things new about Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu at any stop he makes while undergoing his local government tour of the state. His repeated assertions of knowing Anambra State like the back of his hand is no idle boast. He has toured 15 LGAs already and at every stop he educated most locals on the industrial and human capacities of their area.
Yesterday, February 5 at Anaku, he stunned them with description of every community, every terrain and the huge agricultural potentials, including rice, okro and others as a LGA that can appropriately be described as the food basket of the state.
But nothing compared to the huge volume of an agricultural plan that he held aloof while addressing all the Anyamelum LGA Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members of the executive committee, all the 17-man members of all the 11 wards, as well as stakeholders representing all the wards in the LGA.
“There are over 10,000 of irrigation-friendly plots of land around Anyemelu for various kinds of large scale farming.
“This is a plan we developed, in conjunction with United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNIDO for Anyamelum.
“With the gas infrastructure going to come from Orient Oil field from Aguleri, we’re going to put the plan in place, open up access and create massive employment and a huge number of SMEs within the cluster.
“We will ensure adequate security that there won’t be any case of cows destroying crops in farm lands neither any case of bandits harassing our mothers, sisters and daughters,” he continued.
The federal lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Constituency was notifying his party members of his intention to contest for the candidacy of the party for the November 6 general election.
Apart from repeating the promise that he has enough experience to keep all aspirants united for the common goal if he wins the ticket, he also emphasised his willingness to support whoever is chosen ahead of him to make sure PDP government is sworn in on March 17, 2022.
He said even more…
