Today after a conciliation meeting convoked by the governor of Ebonyi State through the Bishop of the Abakaliki Diocese of the Catholic Church, Dr. Michael Nnachi in his bishopric house in Abakaliki.
The meeting was meant to interface with the leaders of the PDP in Ebonyi State to forestall future political quarrels in the state.
Present were: former governors Elechi, Egwu, former SGF- Anyim Pius Anyim, governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi and other founding fathers of the state.
“As a party known to be a proponent of democratic ideals, we’ll do everything within our strength to ensure that peace reigns in Ebonyi in so far as the governor is altruistic in his resolve to pave the way for peace to reign in the state.”
“But, we are not unaware of the fact that whenever the governor makes a move of this nature, he’s preparing to fight his opponents. We are vigilant and are ready to protect the interests of our party, its members and Ebonyi people in all possible ways not contravening rule of law and democratic principles.”
