Ike Okorafor, APGA candidate for Arochukwu State Constituency has debunked the rumors making round in the state that the speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Honorable Chinedum Orji and the Senator representing Abia Central, His Excellency, Senator TA Orji are behind Professor Greg Ibe’s governorship ambition.
Okorafor in a statement he personally signed described the story as “malicious allegation as total falsehood and an asinine fabrication by some unscrupulous elements in PDP who are afraid of Professor Ibe’s candidacy”.
He said, “Professor Greg Ibe did not sign nor enter into any unholy agreement with the Ochendo’s dynasty.We are not surprised with this allegation because it’s possible that it may also be the processes that saw the incumbent PDP government to power. If that is true, the fact remains that it is not our style in APGA. We are children of God and we believe power belongs to God and he gives to whoever he wishes.
“If they believe maybe because the PDP government have failed their principal and is afraid of failure especially how to deliver their candidate , it could be reasons for their resort to blackmailing an innocent man who is on a mission to salvage the good people of Abia state from human servitude.
“The good news is that Abians are tired and are ready for the real change and the time is now. There is no amount of blackmail or intimidation that will stop it. It is based on the forgoing that we seek to advise the PDP government to mind their business and focus on how to pay salaries to Abia workers, provide quality healthcare services,ensure the security lives and properties and desist from diversionary moves just to shy away from their responsibility to provide quality governance.
“Looking at the antecedents of these men before they got into power, you will discover that professor Ibe stands out as an accomplished academia and businessman. He owns a University that meets with NUC guidelines even when the State institutions of learning have lost and are continually losing accreditation. He is a billionaire by hard work not by diverting public funds. Why on earth will he enter into such unholy alliance when he has the qualifications and contact to bring prosperity to the good people of Abians? This blackmail is unacceptable and unnecessary.
“PDP is simply afraid because it’s crystal clear to everyone in the state that APGA is taking over the government house come 2023 and nothing will stop it because our people are tired of the PDP enslavement. So far, Professor Greg Ibe by providing free medical treatment for Abians in the time when we have more mortuaries in the state than hospitals is an indication that there is hope for Abians under the APGA leadership.
“The good people of Abia State are therefore advised to discountenance such vituperative darts and take it as a cry for help from a drowning camp of the PDP and continue to pledge their unalloyed support for APGA ahead of the 2023 General elections,” he concluded.
