Former House of Representatives member for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Prince Arua Arunsi has abandoned his former party to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.

Arunsi after losing the primary election of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the incumbent member, Hon. Uko Nkole, defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2018.

Our correspondent gathered that Arunsi, who was a former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly is joining the PDP to boost the governorship ambition of the deputy governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko-Chukwu.

A party source told THE WHISPERER that the deputy governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko-Chukwu, is plotting to succeed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023.

“The deputy governor has secretly purchased the PDP governorship nomination form. He is serious about his ambition to succeed his boss. Any attempt to deny him the ticket may lead to a sabotage in Abia North.

“There is a serious crisis in Abia PDP. The governor denied him the opportunity of producing the Chairman of Ohafia local government area. Few days ago, he brought back Engr. Agu Ndukwe Orji, the former Abia state Chairman of OUK Movement just to weaken the deputy governor in his Nkporo clan,” the source said.

THE WHISPERER reports that just like the deputy governor, Arunsi is from Nkporo clan of Ohafia local government area.
