2027: LP Clears Rep Ibe Okwara Osonwa for Arochukwu/Ohafia Re-election Bid

The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has successfully completed his screening by the Labour Party Screening Committee ahead of the party’s primary election for the 2027 general elections.

Osonwa, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Labour Party, announced the development on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, describing the exercise as thorough, fair and professionally conducted.

“Today, I successfully completed my screening by the Labour Party Screening Committee, clearing the way to formally contest the party primary election for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat,” the lawmaker stated.

He expressed appreciation to the screening committee for what he described as their diligence and professionalism throughout the exercise.

“I am grateful to the Screening Committee for their diligence and professionalism. The process was thorough and fair, as it should be,” he added.

The federal lawmaker also thanked his constituents, supporters and members of the Labour Party across Arochukwu and Ohafia for their continued support and goodwill.

According to him, the same commitment to service, integrity and partnership that earned him the confidence of the people during his first term would continue to guide his political journey ahead of the next election cycle.

“The work that brought me to this moment is the same work that will carry us into the next term: people-focused service, integrity, and partnership with His Excellency Governor Alex Otti for the continued progress of our constituency,” he stated.

Osonwa further reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining development and delivering quality representation to the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker is the sole aspirant of the Labour Party for the House of Representatives seat in the constituency.
