Democratic Leadership Alliance Launches as Nigeria’s First Ideological Party

The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has officially unveiled itself as Nigeria’s first political party built on a clear ideological foundation, promising to deliver long-term national transformation rather than short-term political gains. In a statement issued by Barr. Samuel M. Memeh, National Chairman, and Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., National Publicity Secretary, the party said it was established to address systemic failures, economic stagnation, and insecurity in the country.

The DLA declared that its principles are anchored in Pan-Africanism, ethical leadership, scientific advancement, and people-centered governance. The party envisions a Nigeria driven by science, technology, and industrialisation, where innovation fuels economic growth, institutions function effectively, and leadership is accountable to the people. It called for a transition from a consumption-based economy to one led by production and innovation, the promotion of local manufacturing, significant investment in technology and youth enterprise, and the creation of sustainable systems that empower Nigerians to generate wealth and opportunity.

The party also expressed strong concern over the destruction of farmlands and the displacement of farmers, calling for immediate legislative action and effective regulation of cattle movement across the country. Cattle owners, it said, must operate within designated ranching systems and take full responsibility for their operations. The DLA stressed that protecting farmers and securing agricultural lands is not only a matter of national security but also crucial for food sovereignty, economic stability, and national survival.

The DLA called on all well-meaning Nigerians to join the movement, describing it as a platform for statesmen, patriots, and young leaders seeking ideological governance. Interested citizens are urged to register online via the party’s interactive website, www.dlanigeria.org, and familiarize themselves with its vision, policy drive, and ideology. The party emphasised its rejection of corruption, political opportunism, and ethnic or religious divisions, while promoting unity, discipline, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership.

Barr. Memeh concluded the statement by urging Nigerians to rise, organise, and contribute to national renewal, saying, “The time has come to rewrite the story of our nation. Together, through courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, we can secure our future. Nigeria will rise again.”
