Ndi Ibe Ohafia community in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State, has honoured Chief Mrs. Amaka Mba-Olobor, an American-based humanitarian and founder of the Chiamaka Foundation, for her outstanding philanthropic contributions to the community.
The ceremony, held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Ndi Ibe Ohafia School Field, celebrated Chief Mrs. Olobor’s tireless efforts to uplift the lives of rural women.
Over the years, her foundation has provided essential support, including food items, wrappers, cash donations, and other resources to the women in the area.
Speaking at the event, Rev. Nkechi Garrison, General Secretary of Ndi Ibe Ohafia Development Union Women’s Wing, described the award as a recognition of Chief Mrs. Olobor’s dedication to the development of the community and her service to humanity.
In her acceptance speech, Chief Mrs. Olobor expressed her gratitude to the community for the honour, pledging to continue her philanthropic efforts.
“This recognition inspires me to do more for Ndi Ibe Ohafia and beyond,” she said.
