Ohafia is set to witness an unprecedented influx of young dynamic individuals as the National Association of Ohafia Students (NAOS) Worldwide convenes for its annual National Convention on September 28th and 29th, 2024.
According to a statement signed by Comrade Prince Udensi, Chairman of the Planning Committee, the gathering is expected to attract over 10,000 Ohafia students from tertiary institutions across Nigeria and the diaspora, making it one of the largest youth conventions in Abia state.
NAOS Worldwide, the umbrella body of Ohafia students in higher institutions, has long served as a “unifying platform for nurturing future leaders and fostering connections with accomplished professionals in various sectors,”Udensi said.
The statement said this year’s convention will be marked by a blend of activities, including the election of new national officers and the much-anticipated “NAOS DIAMOND NIGHT” awards ceremony.
The NAOS DIAMOND NIGHT will recognise distinguished Ohafians and friends of the community who have made significant contributions to society. Among them the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu; the lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa; Legal Luminary, Elder Etigwe Uwa, SAN; Rivers State Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Sam Anya; Businessman, Chief Kelvin Jumbo, among others who have excelled in their fields and positively impacted the Ohafia community.
The event will provide an opportunity to celebrate excellence, showcase youth talent, and reinforce the principles necessary for personal and communal growth.
Organizers are calling on brands, business owners, and well-meaning individuals interested in supporting or partnering with the event to come forward. The convention will also see the launch of the association’s official almanac, presenting a platform for businesses to secure a spot and gain visibility within the vibrant Ohafia student community.
