The meeting, held at Ikenga Plaza, Ebem Ohafia, aimed to promote peace and unity within the party.

The party was thrown into crisis in 2022 after a leadership squabble between the previous state chairman, Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr.Uche Ogah, and 2023 governorship candidate, Chief Ikechi Emenike.

In his opening speech, Prince Emma Nwosu declared that the party is now one and united, stating “forward ever and backward never.” Hon Ume Okwara aligned with this assertion, urging members to forgive past offenses and work towards unity.

Other leaders, including High Chief Uche Ogboso, Bar Udo Uduma, and Hon Lochi Ngam, spoke in support of the reconciliation and peace move. Guest observer Hon Ojisi Iron Ogbaja emphasised the need for unity and a formidable front as a party.

The meeting ended successfully, with members resolving to meet regularly and work towards a stronger, more united party. Entertainment followed, and the atmosphere was filled with a sense of unity and purpose.

Notable absentees, including Dr Chidia Maduekwe, Hon Chief Fred Eke Idika, and Hon Ikenna Ukwa, sent goodwill messages and financial support, demonstrating their commitment to the party’s unity.

With this meeting, Ohafia South APC has taken a significant step towards unity and strength, poised to make a positive impact in the political landscape.
