Prominent legal luminary, Etigwe Uwa SAN FCIArb, has reacted to the recent gale of defections across political parties in Abia state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a chat with The Whisperer on Thursday afternoon, Uwa said: “All those involved in the recent and ongoing avalanche of defections and those canvassing for disgruntled politicians to jump ship into their own political parties had better have some strong ideological or principle- based reason for doing so else they are all no more than deplorable political prostitutes!

“The active defectors and the defection canvassers must be aware that we would ask them questions when the time comes and they had better have cogent and reasonable explanation for their actions else they would be punished at the polls even if such punishment is meted out by only a minority of discerning voters.

“We must discipline the political process by a deliberate action of consigning political vagabonds to where they rightly belong which is anywhere outside public office or any position of trust.”
