The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State is deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless killing of Mr. Emmanuel Okocha, an innocent Abiriba and an Aba based businessman, at the hands of a police officer in Aba. The incident which occurred along Aba Owerri Road is shocking, highly unfortunate land and we condemn this act of violence in the strongest terms.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire Abiriba community as they mourn the loss of Mr. Okocha. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time of grief and sorrow.
We commend the Abia State Police Command for their swift response in apprehending the officer responsible, Corporal Obagi Njok, and for initiating disciplinary actions against him. We appreciate the command’s commitment to upholding professionalism and the rule of law, as demonstrated in their handling of this unfortunate incident.
As a party, we stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and the Abiriba community, urging for justice to be served and for measures to be put in place to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
May Mr. Emmanuel Okocha rest in peace, and may his loved ones find solace and strength during this trying time.
