After Petition By Rep Ibe Okwara Osonwa, EEDC Partially Restores Electricity Supply To Ohafia, Nkporo Communities

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has partially restored electricity supply to Nkporo and Ohafia communities, in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State following a petition presented to the House of Representatives by Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa on behalf of the communities.

An indigene of Ohafia community, Mr. Kalu Obasi, confirmed the development to The Whisperer on Wednesday, saying: “There is light right now in Uzo Ofuru in Ebem and its environs.”

In a chat with The Whisperer on Wednesday afternoon, the lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa said “it was to test and see vulnerabilities within our lines and to ascertain which transformers require servicing as stated in my briefing before Easter”.

He also confirmed that a reappearance letter has been written to the EEDC to appear before the House Committee on Public Petitions on the 16th of April, 2024.
