A massive political earthquake has hit the Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as Mr. ACB Agbazuere, the former Chief of Staff to the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu; Eze Chikamnayo, former Commissioner for Information; Uzor Azubuike, former member of the House of Representatives, and other prominent members of the party on Monday dumped it for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Whisperer reports that this is coming ahead of the zonal caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), slated for Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
The former PDP leaders were welcomed to the APC by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, and the National Welfare Secretary of the party, Chief Donatus Nwankpa.
Their defection from the PDP to the APC was announced during a stakeholders meeting convened at the instance of the minister at her country home in Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area, Infopowerng reports.
Other defectors include Chief Eze Nwanganga, former Commissioner for Public Utilities; Chief Sam Nwogu, former Commissioner for Environment; Elder Godwin Nna, former Commissioner for Commerce; Chief Uzor Ihuka, former Commissioner representing Isiala-Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South and Osisioma Local Government Areas in the Board of Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (ASOPADEC), among others.
