Vice presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2023 presidential election, Pastor Okey Udo has congratulated the lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa on his victory at the Appeal Court on Tuesday.
The Court of Appeal had on Tuesday overturned the decision of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which nullified the election of Ibe Okwara Osonwa of the Labour Party (LP) as the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives.
A three-man panel headed by Justice Habeeb Abiru nullified the victory secured at the tribunal by Daniel Chimezie Okeke of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Appeal Court, in its ruling on Tuesday, reinstated Osonwa’s mandate by affirming his victory in the February 25 National Assembly election.
The appellate court ruled that Osonwa’s election should not have been nullified by the tribunal as it complied with the Electoral Act.
Pastor Udo, in a congratulatory statement issued on Friday in Abuja and made available to THE WHISPERER urged Osonwa to entrench progressive representation by carrying everyone along.
